Hiring Jessica to Consult

If you have specific questions about how to get better results from your company newsletter, you can now avail yourself of Jessica’s decade+ worth of experience as a newsletter designer and consultant. She’s available by both phone and email, with email providing a less expensive option if you’re keeping a close eye on your budget.

In either case, you will receive one-on-one time directly with Jessica and she will answer any questions you have about email marketing, distribution, or specific email programs.

Once your payment is received, you’ll receive an email confirmation. If you don’t receive that email confirmation, please give us a call or send us an email. (Sometimes our confirmation gets lost on its way to you.) Your confirmation will include information on selecting your appointment time (for phone consults) and how to submit your questions (which is optional for phone consults). You will have this email within one business day and if you haven’t received it please send us an email–emails do go missing. Please note: these emails are not sent automatically, so it may be a few hours before you receive yours.

Phone Consults with Jessica

Each phone session lasts 45 minutes. You can sign up for one session at a time or sign up for a block of sessions at a discount.

Jessica will call you at your appointed time. All calls can be recorded (it’s your choice) at no additional cost and you can download the call for later review. If you’d like to receive your session on CD, we can have it shipped to your door for an additional $15/session.

All appointments are by availability and Jessica’s located in the eastern time zone (New York time).

Email Consulting

If you would prefer written answers to your company newsletter questions, sign up for Jessica’s email consulting. You will even be able to ask one follow-up question for clarification.

(Please note: The more specific you can be in your question, the greater the depth of Jessica’s response. Answers average approximately 500 words.)

Examples of Good Questions Include:

• I want an autoresponder, HTML distribution, personalization, and RSS delivery. Which email distribution services do you recommend?
• Currently, about 10% of the people who visit my website sign up for my newsletter. I’d like to increase that to 15%. What do you recommend I do first?
• We use a double opt-in subscribe system. About 50% of people don’t complete the process. How can we increase that?

Notice that these questions include details about what you’re currently experiencing and the OUTCOME you’re looking for. If you can concisely describe your problem and your desired outcome, email consulting is a great way to get an action plan for a fraction of the cost of phone consulting.

What if you need more questions?

If you ask a really big question and have only purchased one answer, we’ll email you and give you two options. You can receive a general overview response, or you can upgrade to get a more in-depth response. It’s always up to you, and we’ll be very up front with you about what you can expect. Because we’ve received so many questions over the years, it’s impossible to really know for sure how much time your question will take to answer until after we’ve seen it (because we’ve seen firsthand that there are a lot of great questions about newsletters!), but we do have the experience to know at a glance about how complicated your question is. So, if you’d like to submit your question in advance and get a price, you’re welcome to do that.
