We work with busy professionals and business owners who know they need a newsletter but are simply too busy to do it right. Our clients want to communicate effectively with their clients and prospects, as easily as possible.

We start by creating the just-right newsletter design for you (whether you need an email newsletter design, or print). Then, we can provide you with on-going services.

What we require of our clients

You should know, we’re very demanding. Some might even call us high maintenance.

If you don’t care about results, we’re not the company for you. And because we work so hard on your behalf to *get* results, we simply can’t work with everyone who contacts us.

When we’re creating your newsletter design, you won’t be able to get away with “I’ll know it when I see it” as an answer to our questions about what you’re looking for. And there’s a very good reason for that–we don’t want to waste your time. Your time is much too valuable for slogging through dozens of designs on the premise that you’ll know it when you see it.

That’s why we’re so thorough with our clients up front. We ask a lot of questions and do a lot of listening in the first stage of working with you. Expect to spend about 45 minutes on the phone with us setting goals, looking through design elements, and making decisions.

After this phone call, our clients often say we’ve helped them clarify other parts of their business marketing–whether we’ve helped them better communicate their unique position in the market place, or they’ve been able to put their finger on precisely what they need to change about their brand identity–and we’ll do exactly the same with you.

It’s okay not to know

You don’t need to have all the answers when you decide to work with us–you just need to be willing to get your hands dirty in the process of *discovering* the answers.

We see design as a process and believe that creativity flourishes with plenty of direction. When we first start working together, we’ll be full of questions.

Ours is the philosophy of the four-year-old: ask “Why” constantly, mix up all the colors, and snack often (really, come to our office and you’ll see–we never eat meals, only snacks). The result sounds messy, but as you’ll see in our newsletter design portfolio, it’s more often beautiful, engaging design.

Email Newsletter Design

Professionals hire us to create great-looking, perfectly-fuctioning HTML email newsletter designs. They know we’ll run their design through *all* the tests–from ensuring the HTML code is 100% valid to checking the design in our proprietary “Not Spam!” Design Checker–to maximize their delivery rate and minimize their hassels.

Because an email newsletter design is so complicated (to start, it should be hand coded, can’t rely on CSS for the layout, and needs to look good on both Macs and Windows machines), it’s generally not a question of whether or not you should do it yourself. Rather, it may be a question of what company is the right company to work with.

When you’re choosing a design company, here’s what we recommend:

  • Check out their portfolio. You’re not looking for *your* newsletter, but do see what you think of their work. Is it attractive to you? Do you like it?
  • Ask some questions. If you’ve never published an email newsletter before, you probably want a company that will answer your questions in a way that you’ll be able to understand. Does this company communicate in a way that works for you?
  • Don’t expect the perfect design in the first round. Could your newsletter design company get it exactly right right from the start? Yes. Is it likely? Nope :-). Design is a process, great design even more so. You’re looking for a design you’ll use for many years to come–it’s worth the time to get it right in the beginning.

Writing & Editing Services

Some of our clients hate writing while others may like writing well enough, but want help giving their newsletter that extra sparkle.

When clients first start a newsletter, they often need some extra help–brainstorming article topics, determining what’s too “personal” and what’s just right, and just plain “get it done!” motivation. Then, as they become accustomed to regular publishing, some of our clients need less help, while some ask for more (because they’re so busy with all their new clients).

Our services are flexible. What you need, we’ll provide. Because we bill on a project basis, you don’t need to constantly “check the clock”–we won’t charge you by the minute ;-), so let us provide the support you need.
