Code Breaking Kit

There are lots of different codes out there. For instance, you might use a simple substitution code: a=1, b=2, c=3 and so forth. Using that code, what would the following message say:

4, 21, 11, 5   9,19    1   2,1,4   7,21,25

Another code is to use letters as your substitution. A simple letter substitution could be a=b, b=c, c=d, etc. The following is the same message as above, but with the letter substitution code.

evlf jt b cbe hvz

There are lots of other codes. Throughout time governments have tried to keep data a secret by using codes. Now many companies try to encrypt data so that online shopping is safe. 

Individuals have used codes, too, for instance, did you know that Leonardo da Vinci wrote notes in his journals in backwards cursive?
