The Dirty Elephant

Johnny’s father calls Johnny’s teacher, Miss Smith, in a rage. “How dare you,” he shouts. “How could you have called my son a ‘dirty elephant’?”

Miss Smith takes a deep breath and says, “I didn’t call Johnny a ‘dirty elephant,’ I called him a ‘disruptive element.’”

And thus continues my tradition of posting the very silly jokes that marked my childhood ;-). But, this one, like the others I’ve shared, does have an important marketing lesson about communication–and using words your audience isn’t likely to misinterpret.

But, the reason I’m sharing it here is because it’s a lot more fun to refer to Outlook as a “dirty elephant” than a “disruptive element” and I thought I ought to offer an explanation for my nonsensicality.
